Emerging Rider Council

Making bicycle travel more accessible for everyone

The Emerging Rider Council is the voice of underrepresented riders in the cycling industry, driving program initiatives that remove barriers for all emerging riders.

Connect

Meet like-minded friends and establish a deeper relationship to the cycling community

Advocate

Ensure you and your friends are represented in the bicycle travel community

Advise

Help guide new programming at Adventure Cycling through your experience as a cyclist

We are currently recruiting for the Emerging Rider Council in the Rocky Mountain region. It’s a one-year commitment, and the Council meets remotely bi-monthly. The Council provides feedback and advises Adventure Cycling on restructuring its programming to be more inclusive.

If inclusion and accessibility in the cycling community sound like something you’re passionate about, take our survey! No bike travel experience is needed.

Requirements

  • Resident of the Rocky Mountain Region: If you live in Colorado, Montana, Northern Arizona, Northern Idaho, or Wyoming, you’re eligible to apply!
  • 1-Year Commitment: Join us for six bi-monthly remote meetings over the course of one year.
  • Advocate for Diversity: We aim for parity in all aspects, including but not limited to demographic identity, gender identity, and socio-economic status.
  • Active Participation: Be ready to engage in pre/post workshop assignments and surveys, and be an enthusiastic participant in our meetings.
