Alenka Vrecek is a native of Slovenia living in Lake Tahoe, California, with her husband, four children, and two grandchildren. Two years after recovering from cancer and a devastating ski accident that ended her 30-year ski coaching career, she rode her mountain bike from Tahoe City to La Ventana Bay near the tip of Mexico’s Baja California.
