JIM SAYER Executive Director
Jim joined Adventure Cycling at the end of 2004. With his family, he
relocated to Missoula from Truckee, California, where he was president
of the Sierra Business Council. Previously, he
directed Greenbelt Alliance in the San Francisco Bay
Area and was a senior legislative assistant in Washington, DC for
Senator Tim Wirth. Jim was drawn to Adventure Cycling because of his
major enthusiasm for cycling and self-propelled transportation. Jim
serves on the board of America Bikes , is a
founding member of the Bike/Walk Alliance for Missoula, and served on the boards of Amnesty
International USA and the Ginetta Sagan
Fund for the Rights of Women and Children .

HOLLY ARMSTRONG Bookkeeper
Holly moved from Durham, New Hampshire, to attend the University of Montana, where she recently graduated with a B.A. in Political Science. Holly still gets back to New Hampshire in the summers to see her family and frolic in the ocean and on the beach. Outside of her work, she spends much of her time entertaining her little Chihuahua named Jumper, running, hiking, swimming, playing racquetball, and of course, riding her bike.

ELLIOT BASSETT Tours Specialist
Elliot moved to Missoula from Chicago in 2001 to attend the University.
After completing a B.S. in exercise science, followed by a year on graduate studies in Canada, and then a year
racing triathlons around the country, Elliot settled into the tours
department in January of 2008. In his free time Elliot coaches the University of Montana triathlon team, and helps put on local cycling,
running, and triathlon races. |

TED BOWMAN Sales Lead
Originally from Blacksburg, Virginia, Ted came to Missoula to complete his B.S. in Wildlife Biology. After a number of field seasons around Montana and Idaho, he was hired as the Sales Associate/Shipping Specialist in the spring of 2007. When out of the office Ted spends time with his wife Jennifer, and their two dogs Jasper and Juna (Big T). Activities and interests include but aren’t limited to: hiking, biking, fishing, backpacking, ice hockey and of course… a cool pint or two at a local pub. |

AMY CORBIN Membership and Marketing Assistant
Amy came to Adventure Cycling in 2006 after working and volunteering with various local non-profits in community development, volunteer management, and marketing. She bikes to the office each day on her clanky, old cruiser bike, with the handle bar streamers blowing in the breeze. Outside of work, she can be found puttering around in her flower garden, cheering on her husband James at his Taekwondo competitions, volunteering for Home Resource and the Missoula Art Museum and attempting to become a home-improvement maven.

RICHARD DARNE Database Administrator
Richard was born in Virginia and moved to the Missoula area at the age of three. He loves it here in Montana and has no plans of leaving.
He started working for Adventure Cycling in May 2004 after doing similar jobs for the Forest Service for the previous four years. In his
spare time he enjoys crossword puzzles, camping, riding his swing bike, and playing banjo while singing with his dad.

MICHAEL DEME Publications Director
Mike started at Adventure Cycling in 1993 in the Sales Department. Since then he has had many
titles, including information specialist, editor of The Cyclists' Yellow Pages, editor of Adventure Cyclist magazine, and Macintosh computer guru for the office. Mike spends his time away from the office bartending, cycling in various corners of the world, and chasing a little white ball around a golf course.

JULIE EMNETT Associate Development Director
Julie Emnett joined the staff in early 2005 as associate development director. In this position, she helps members share their passion for cycling by giving them the opportunity to financially support the organization's many activities and new projects. In addition to conducting membership appeals, Julie also assists members with their planned giving goals. When she's not raising money in support of cycling, Julie is at home with her family including husband and three children. And, in her spare time, she raises and trains Arabian horses.

BEN FERENCZ Graphic Designer
Before joining Adventure Cycling, Ben worked as a designer in New York City. His love of the mountains and his farmer-wife brought him back to Montana where they both went to school. When he is not at Adventure Cycling, he is either on his family farm in St. Ignatius, riding his bike, or working on one of his many side projects. His most current project, www.freemantransport.com, consists of Montana-made fixed gear bikes with S and S couplings for travel. |

CASEY GREENE Cartographer
Casey saddled up with Adventure Cycling’s routes and mapping department in summer of 2008. Casey’s career achievements pale in comparison to his glorious elementary school geography bee win. This monumental accomplishment (the big win over five other students at the local Catholic school in Louisville, Ohio) inspired him to pursue the geographic arts. Later, Casey studied geography at Kent State University while honing in on his real passions: maps and bikes. Spare time: maps and bikes, and of course, the family: Zoeona (9), Tula (2), Jennifer (ageless). |

JULIE HUCK Membership & Development Director
Julie started working at Bikecentennial in 1985 as the receptionist for the organization. Over the years she has moved to director of
the Membership and Development Department. In the hours away from the office, Julie is one of the driving forces of cycling in Missoula.
She founded Dirt Girls, is a founding member of the mountain-bike advocacy group LIMB, and is an officer of Missoulians on Bicycles. Her
goal is to inspire more people to ride even if she has to do it one person at a time.

ROD KRAMER Tours Director
Rod Kramer came on board in June of 2005. From Boulder, Colorado, Rod is trained as an architect but has spent a large part of his career
as a bike entrepreneur. He ran his own bicycle tour company, founded Dirt Camp mountain bike school, and was development director for
IMBA. In his spare time, Rod enjoys road riding, mountain biking, mountaineering, skiing, and all the other outdoor 'ings.

CARLA MAJERNIK Routes and Mapping Director
Carla bicycled across the country in 1976 with Bikecentennial; the trip changed her life and she moved to
Montana. She's been a part of the Routes & Mapping Department since 1983, from the time of hand-drawn maps
all the way to the present computer-generated mapping. Now that she is enjoying an empty nest, she has time for biking, reading, traveling, and doing crafts.

TERI MALOUGHNEY Sales and Marketing Director
In 1984 Teri joined the organization and since then she has held the
title of Receptionist, Administrative Assistant to the Director, Sales
Director and Sales & Marketing Director. A native Montanan, Teri loves
to road bike, hike, alpine ski and travel the world with her partner,
Thorsten and his son Max. She is also becoming an enthusiastic soccer
bonus mom.

MICHAEL "MAC" MCCOY Field Editor
While pedaling through Missoula on a cross-country tour in 1974, Mac learned of a new organization called Bikecentennial. One thing led to another, and he's been working for the organization almost continuously since 1976. Among his many titles: tours coordinator, routes and mapping director, assistant director, and national coordinator of the Great Divide. Today he's the field editor, a role he fulfills from his home office in Teton Valley, Idaho. In the other half of his work life, Mac is a freelance writer and editor of several publications in the Yellowstone-Teton region, including Teton Valley Magazine.

KEVIN MCMANIGAL GIS Specialist/Cartographer
Kevin came to Adventure Cycling in 2008 from Switzerland, after an extended around the world trip. He graduated from Humboldt State in 2006 with a degree in Geography and GIS, capping off his first retirement as an adventure guide in places like Alaska, Australia, and California. His bicycle experience ranges from childhood expeditions on a Huffy banana seat to a recent bike Safari in Nepal. In his free time, he does what ever it takes to get outdoors and have some fun with his wife, Anna Tina. |

JENNIFER MILYKO Cartographer
Jennifer originally came to work for Adventure Cycling while attending the University of Montana, where she earned her BA in geography in
1996. She returned to Missoula and Routes & Mapping in the fall of 2001 (though she never really left Adventure Cycling, continuing to draw
maps on a contractual basis). When she's not in the office, you can find her curled up with a book, solving a crossword puzzle, or perhaps
roaming about town and the local trails with her husband, Rob, and Tiika, the maniac puppy.

KYLIE PAUL Sales Specialist
Kylie joined the ACA party in summer 2008 as sales specialist. After growing up in the snowy past of Minnesota and spending several years communing with wildlife on various field research projects, she landed in Missoula for graduate school in environmental studies. Stressing if indoors too long, she spends her time road and mountain biking, playing ice hockey and ultimate frisbee, telemark skiing, camping, and hiking with her boyfriend Kevin and new pooch Pika, volunteering for local conservation organizations, and occasionally she sits down. |

BETH PETERSEN Member Services Manager
Beth started in 2001 for Adventure Cycling as the receptionist then as the sales lead. Since then, she has added many tasks to her position, including keeping our busy offices organized and managing the Bike Bits e-mail list. She spends the majority of her time away from work following her children between
school sporting events.

SARAH RAZ Tours Specialist
Sarah started at Adventure Cycling in January of 2008. She became interested in the organization during the summer of 2007, while planning her first bicycle tour. Sarah grew up in Virginia, and moved to Helena to lead a crew of trailworkers for the Montana Conservation Corps in 2005. In her time off, she enjoys backpacking, running, baking bread, writing haikus, and playing air guitar.

JOHN SIEBER Web Developer
John started at Adventure Cycling as the web developer during May of 2006 after spending the last 7- ½ years at a local Missoula software development company. He is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but moved to Missoula in 1993 to attend the University of Montana and enjoy the Montana outdoors. John likes to spend his free time with his wife Kim and hiking with their two dogs Jema and Tasha. John and Kim both also enjoy playing in the local ice hockey leagues for fun and exercise.

GREG SIPLE Art Director
Greg co-founded Bikecentennial in 1973 while on Hemistour, a bike trip from Alaska to Argentina. Greg has had many duties during the past
30 years, with the main ones being art director for the magazine and historian for the organization. He also photographs many of the
cyclists who visit the headquarters in the summer, separates the recycling generated by the office once a month, and peppers the staff
with jokes throughout the day. Greg commutes to work everyday by bicycle and is proud of the fact that he started bicycle commuting in 1957 when
he entered the seventh grade.

SHEILA SNYDER Chief Operations Officer
Sheila is a CPA with a master's in accounting from the University of Montana. She has worked in nonprofit
accounting for seven years and loves it. In her spare time, she goes from sporting event to sporting event, cheering
on her children.

WINONA SORENSEN Media Director
Winona has worked in the communications field for nearly ten years including experience with print publications, press relations, web design & content management, and digital video production. She received her MFA in Media Arts from the University of Montana in Missoula. She loves long distance running, yoga, gardening, poetry, and good story telling of any kind.

GINNY SULLIVAN New Routes Coordinator
Ginny (or more formally, Virginia) manages two major projects for Adventure Cycling –the Underground Railroad Bicycle Route and the US Bicycle Route System. Ginny kept an eye on Adventure Cycling Association for quite some time before joining the team in 2005. Her work experience lies in health and fitness promotion and disease prevention. For the past 11 years, Ginny has taught fitness classes, including cycling. She loves her job and constantly touts, “I have the best job in Missoula!” When she’s not chasing her three children, two dogs, one cat and husband around to running, biking and hockey events, She enjoys to bike, run, hike/backpack and play hockey herself!

JOSH TACK Member Services/IT Assistant
Josh came to work for Adventure Cycling after earning his BS in Geology from the University of Montana. He participates in all types of cycling, including road racing, mountain biking, touring and cyclocross. When this Iowa native is not attached to his desk or bike, he can be found mounted to a pair of skis.

AARON TEASDALE Editor, writer, photographer
Aaron is the Deputy Editor of Adventure Cyclist, editor of The Cyclists’ Yellow Pages, and a photo editor for various Adventure Cycling publications. A freelance writer and photographer, Aaron's work has appeared in most national cycling publications, as well as National Geographic Adventure, Audubon, and Cars-R-Coffins. A cycling junkie, he's ridden Inca trails in Peru, man-eating bogs in Newfoundland, ghettos in Newark, Indian trails in the Yukon, thin-aired scree slopes in the Andes, and a remote section of Tanzania’s Serengeti plain. Away from work, Aaron is an avid skier, backpacker, and birder, and takes his wife, Jacqueline, and two young boys, Silas and Jonah, to the woods whenever possible.

JOHN WEYHRICH Tours Team Leader
A former veterinarian, John turned his love of "all things bicycling" into a staff position with Adventure Cycling in late 2006. His two decades of cycling accomplishments include several national racing championship titles and extensive experience in bicycle administration, mentoring, route development, and advocacy. When not on one of his road, mountain, or cyclocross bikes, John also enjoys skiing, wilderness exploration, and world travel.
