2008 ANNUAL REPORT
In 2008, Adventure Cycling Association again set records for membership numbers, more route miles (38,158 miles!), more maps sold and our website had more visitors than ever.

We released our Washington Parks Route map set – 870 miles of amazing bicycling diversity including ocean beaches, fertile orchards and the gorgeous Olympic Peninsula.

We were also recognized for our efforts, receiving Outside magazine’s Best Places to Work award – recognizing the supportive working atmosphere we have in Missoula and the excellent staff that has had such a significant role in accomplishing the work we have done and will do in the future. The American Trails’ Partnership Award was given to Adventure Cycling for our work on the Underground Railroad Bicycle Route and Aaron Teasdale, deputy editor, received the Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Gold Award for his story on bike travel in East Africa.

In the past year, Adventure Cycling Association also played a major role in shaping and winning approval of a national corridor plan for an official, signed U.S. Bicycle Route System, a role that involved collaborating with many federal and state agencies and nonprofits.

Adventure Cycling Association continues to be a great steward of your financial support – with 91% of all donations go directly into program services. Read more about it by downloading a PDF of Adventure cycling Association’s 2008 Annual Report below.
