Annual Report

2007 ANNUAL REPORT
Adventure Cycling ended 2007 at a number of new milestones: more members, route miles, maps sold, tour participants, website visitors (more than doubling from 2006), and media attention than any time since we were founded in 1976.

We released our Adirondack Park Loop, Allegheny Mountains Loop, and the final segments of the acclaimed Underground Railroad (UGRR) Bicycle Route. All of these routes received significant media attention, but none more so than the UGRR, which was featured by many media outlets including Jet, Smithsonian, USA Today, National Public Radio, the New York Times, Detroit Free-Press, and even newspapers in Japan, which picked up the story from Associated Press!

There was other good news in our collaborative work to build an official U.S. Bicycle Route System. We partnered with federal and state officials in developing a national corridor plan for such a system, and started work on a route designation system – all in the service of enhancing the cycling experience in all parts of our nation.

Adventure Cycling Association continues to be great stewards of your financial support – with 91% of all donations going directly into program services. Read more about it by downloading a PDF of Adventure Cycling Association’s 2007 Annual Report below.
