TOUR DESCRIPTION

TRIP DATES: Sep 26, 2010 - Oct 02, 2010
LOCATION: Petaluma, CA

Fulfill your cycling and gastronomic appetites by taking part in this bike tour through Northern California’s most scenic and productive agricultural areas. Starting a short distance from San Francisco, we’ll pass by dairies, vineyards, and nut and fruit orchards at the peak of harvest. We’ll also ride through some of the best cycling terrain that this country has to offer. You’ll soon understand why many professional racing cyclists call this area home.

We’ve kept the daily riding distances short enough to provide time for enjoying the various wineries, farmers’ markets, and other highlights of the region. Our group will explore the Sonoma and Napa valleys, the Alexander and Russian River valleys, Point Reyes, Tomales and Bodega bays, the coastal bluffs of Marin County, and for those who wish, the Golden Gate Bridge. You’ll inhale warm autumn air, savor fresh locally-sourced produce, quaff some of the world’s finest wines, and pedal from the edge of the tawny Coast Range to the blue Pacific — and then back again. Join us for this magical sensory tour blending sustainable agriculture with world-class bike touring.
