Colorado Relaxed

TOUR DESCRIPTION

TRIP DATES: Aug 08, 2010 - Aug 14, 2010
LOCATION: Silverthorne, CO

This ride offers a fantastic opportunity to do some alpine riding in a more laid-back state of mind and body. On this fully-supported tour, participants can expect sumptuous, catered meals, well-stocked food stops, luggage transport, and care-free cycling.

We’ll set out from Summit County’s Silverthorne, a vibrant ski town with a full array of services, and wind up in posh and historic Aspen, where the Old West meets New West. In between are long stretches of traffic-free riding on paved bicycle paths, and a layover day promising a soothing soak in the world’s largest hot springs pool, shopping and other fun, off-the-bike activities.

We’ve also added a wonderful new section of rail-trail that will enable us to pedal leisurely through the Roaring Fork River Valley. The newly opened Rio Grande Trail is a 44-mile paved, non-motorized pathway, which we’ll follow from Glenwood Springs to Aspen. By adding this to our existing set of mellow rides through some of Colorado’s most famous ski towns — Frisco, Breckenridge, Vail, and others — we’ve made an already great bicycle tour even better.
