THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD RIDE
solo journey down through the fabulas wine region, Mornington Peninsula. A ferry across Port Phillip Bay to the baron Bellarine Penninsula and onto the Great Ocean Road. I toured the Otways National Park (rain forest) so tranquill, lots of spectacular waterfalls. On to the 12 Apostles and up the shipwreck coast to turn around and head back to Melbourne. 979klms in 7 days. I have posted the ride as a doco. on my web page. THE BIRDSVILLE TRACK, AUSTRALIA
From Adelaide to Marree, then on the famous Birdsville Track to Birdsville. From there we turned East to continue to Gladstone and Brisbane. On the way to Marree we visited the Flinders Ranges National Park. The Birdsville Track crosses through parts of a few deserts, the Simpson Desert, as well as the Sturt's Stony Desert. Bores with water are available along the way. During our trip we experienced unusual monsoon rains in the desert, turning the landscape into a big lake... (Waltraud Schulze, Jan, 2001)
